ABOUT THE AUTHOR

From a very early age Lee Ford Jackson developed a passion for stories of the fantastic, horror and dark fantasy.  His interest in the genre began after seeing the RKO production of King Kong, and Ray Harryhausen’s dinosaur movie, The Valley of Gwangi.  These two movies combined assisted to fire his imagination and creative interests, along with the movies Jaws, Alien and An American Werewolf in London. 

 

 

Jackson has always had high interest in reading books and screenplays.  His favourite writer’s include Richard Matheson, Stephen King, Orson Scott Card, Clive Barker, Lisa Tuttle, James Herbert, A. C Crispin, Alan Dean Foster, Charles Dickens, James Cameron, Andrew Kevin Walker, Peter Benchley, Quentin Tarantino, Evan Hunter, Michael Crichton, Daphne du Maurier,  John Wyndham, Lawrence Kasdan,  Dan O’ Bannon and Robert Towne. 

The scripts uploaded presently and those in the future are submitted for your approval.  The work presented here is nothing more than examples of the writers practice at penning for the screen; his attempts to write cinematic pieces of literature that will hopefully inspire film-makers, be of interest to film students, and to those who wish to study creative-writing for motion pictures and TV.

Lee Jackson has studied the history of screenplay writing, delving into scripts from the silent era, the 1930s, 40s and 50s right through to present day.  Much of his writing efforts incorporate styles of writing from periods of screenplay history.

As an ex-film-maker and photographer Lee Ford Jackson has strong visual interpretations of the scripts he sits down to write.

He also writes short stories, novellas and had his first novella, The Rookery published by Matador in the summer of 2018.

He has qualifications in TV Production as well as experience of working in film in myriad of different production roles—both on location and sound stages.  

Lee Ford Jackson resides in the county of Staffordshire in England.  He is a bachelor of both arts and health science.
